I have used my first roll of medium format film in my new to me Bronca ETRSI. It was Ilford HP5. I am not expecting great things becuse I found manually focussing with out a split prism very difficult. I have now ordered a split prism focussing screen.

I had a problem trying to take photos in bright sunlight as I didn't understand the markings in the viewfinder. I now realise that it was warning of overexposure due to the aperture selected, I am not used to having a 1/500 top shutter speed!

Also I opened the film back very slightly by mistake when trying to change backs, I hope this didn't ruin the whole roll.

Nevertheless I am intrugued to see what comes back from Peak Imaging.

I will post them if I get anything decent.

Welcome to the world of MF.

I got my first MF camera about a year ago, and now shoot almost exclusively MF.

Hope you get some good results from your first roll, but even if not persevere and it will be worthwhile.

.

I've done this when changing backs on my ETRS.....it's actually too easy to do tbh!

Like yourself, i was concerned, in fact practically convinced that the film would be ruined.

Nonetheless i continued to finish the roll.

Upon developing, one frame was lost, another slightly fogged on the edge, but overall i got away lightly.

I'd stay fairly confident that most, if not all of your frames will come out just fine.

That is good to know. Thanks for letting me know, fingers crossed.

Snap! I bought my Hasselblad in February and apart from two occasions where it were it had to go to Miles Whitehead for some tlc (it's with Miles now) the others don’t get much of a look in.

I even took it to Le Mans this year where a manual focus camera with a maximum speed of 1/500 that also took up 90% of my rucksack space (I went down by bike) probably wouldn’t be everyone’s first choice! I don't regret taking it though.

Welcome to the world of medium format Rob
