Yes
Up untill now I have stayed away from lighting, its something I have been able to live without and always considered it a rather 'scary' subject, scary in the sence that I know nothing about it.....

However, I think its fairly safe to say that untill i 'grab the bull by the horns' im always going to shy away.

If any of you have seen some of my recent posts you will know I recently purchased myself a canon 70-200 F4 L lens, with the money I had been saving up for a lighting set up, but apparently fate has decided its time for me to get lighting anyway and gave me an additional £400 to spend...

Which kinda leads me to why I am here...

I recently got some advice from Garry Edwards (from Lencarta) but dont want to keep bugging the guy, he has been more than helpful so far but I am still a little unsure..........

I am looking for a kit, at least 2 heads, I know I want one strip softbox with honeycomb grid for rim lighting,
I would idealy like ones I can have battery powered but can settle without for the moment.

But other than that, I really dont know what I need... Ive got a couple of links to what I 'think' is a decent set up, but ideally I would prefer second hand for the obvious reason of getting more for your money... But any advice/guidance would be appreciated...

Most of the jobs I do are indoors on location if that makes a difference...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, that's the stuff you need.
But if your budget will allow, the folding strip softbox will be more convenient if you're travelling around, and can't leave the softbox assembled. The quality of the light is the same.

And you should also consider a radio trigger set.

Lol Garry, your always on hand for a bit of advice arnt you.... I did see the folding softboxes and really want to go down that route but current budget simply wont allow, im streatching it as it is... maybe worth while waiting till the 20th (pay day) so I can get the Folding ones......

Unless anyone is selling second hand... ive heard Lencarta hold their own even second hand :D

Garry, just ordered the kit + trigger set + an additional reciever (2 lights so i guessed i would need the extra one)

Looking forward to its delivery

Leon,

The receiver is plugged into the back of one flash head, the other flash head acts as a slave - you only need a receiver for each head if another photographer's flash is setting off your lights.

PM me if you would like to cancel the extra receiver
