First job with new agency!

OK, those of you who know which agency this is will hopefully appreciate how amazingly chuffed I am with this.

First job this weekend just gone, was at Yeovil Town v Man Utd. Good game, some interesting shots and some names to look out for in the future.

Had no problems with kit, except a random err01 in the warm-ups. Solved that with a removal of the battery from the mkII, dismount the 135L and turn it all on again. Problem solved.

Uploads went off OK and I had some crackers. Checked with the desk (using AIM - which is a first) to make sure they were up then head home.

Sunday, rename and upload all the originals (straight out of camera)...4 1/2 hours of uploading, perhaps going to invest in faster broadband, but they went in fine, and have all been processed this morning and are being punted around to everyone and anyone that needs/wants them. Great stuff.

Phone call this morning, from the chief tog...to congratulate me and offer me a couple of tips for next weekend. Nice chat, nice bloke, and I have never felt more at home as a tog as I do here. Feel like I'm on top of the world this morning! And thanks go to Kipax (for the mk3) and Andy (for the 135L)...without you guys, I'd have been producing guff images.

OK...I'm done with my big grinning moronically post...you may all carry on as before. :D:D:D
 
That's good to hear you have done a good job, well done...what sort of tips did the big guy pass on?

Mainly "housekeeping" stuff that's slightly different from my last agency...so nothing like teaching grandma to suck eggs!

I've been doing this for 5 years, and I'm now at one of the top agencies. It's like being snapped up from Leyton Orient to play for West Ham, and scoring on your debut...on top of the world!

Look, just because you're all northern and that, doesn't mean you have to be mean about my second love. West Ham is everything to me.

To be fair, at least you're supporting a club in your own end of the country... seeing as most United fans travel up the M40/M6 each weekend :thinking::D

Grew up down there, as did most employees of new agency (it's like being at home when I'm on the phone to them) and was a season ticket holder for 8 years down there...claret and blue runs through my family's veins and has done for generations.

I can't think of anything worse than supporting "the best" team...most of the Man U fans at Saturday's game sounded like The Wurzels so must have been from Zummerzet. :bang:

Nope...they want all the originals. Thats why it took 4.5hrs...265 photos to send!

I can't say too much about why on the forum, but suffice to say they're necessary!
 
but you must delete the stuff thats obviously guff first (oof or half a player etc) ?

I take offence at your analogy:razz:. As an Orient fan there could be little worse than one of our players going off to play for Wet Spam...now if he went and scored an own goal on his debut all would be forgiven.

Well done for getting off to a good start with the new agency though!
 
I ahte people seeing my pics without a little TLC from me.. mostly auto contrast TBH :)

I have three days working for an event photogrpaher at a footy tournament this week... I turn up with equipment and they supply memory cards which i give them every hr or so during the day.. three days of pics and I dont get to see them but they do :(

Haha...to be fair, not many Bore-iant players would ever get the chance to b boot-boys at West Ham! ;)

Cheers anyway, I'm hoping to carry on with my blog over the season...it's just getting started now and it'll start properly when the season proper starts.

Shift fee...so money either way, but hoping for a lot of good shows with the footy and rugby anyway, nothing like seeing your own photos in't papers.

Thank you Mr Garcia...next aztecs game is August 8th (I think)...against London Blitz.

Last home game of the season too.

Then we're into the playoffs, with a Britbowl appearance for the Aztecs (hopefully).

Cool, I am hooking up with Benny the junior coach as he is a very good mate and shooting some stuff for WISE Campus again. All being well I will pop along on the 8th. :thumbs:
