Hi everyone
I've just signed up on recommendation from a fellow member.

Its my birthday soon and my family have bought me my first DSLR camera after I went along to the UCA Intro to Digital Photography course not long ago.

I'm very excited to step it up from my Cybershot Point & Shoot camera to a DSLR and I will hopefully, between dirty nappies and running about like a headless chicken, I will get time to read the manual!

I went for the Sony A200 as it was being replaced by a newer model so the outlay for my family wasn't taking the wotsit. Having read lots about it online I am to understand it is a good entry level camera. Although, it feels odd not to be part of the Canon or Nikon club?! (LOL).

Hello!

I've just joined too, and am firmly with you in the 'dirty nappies and running around like a headless chicken' club - so there you go, you're in a club even if it isn't the Canon or Nikon one!

Finding time to get out with my camera is seriously tough, I maybe manage a couple of hours once or twice a month without a baby or toddler in tow. It's fab when it happens though!
 
I don't think it really matters what DSLR you start with as long as you do start :) So well done and congratulations on the new camera. Take your time with the technical and artistic aspects of photography and most important of all, have fun.

Oh, and welcome. Although I haven't been here long :)
