I've managed to get a shot I took at the weekend published in two local weekly newspapers, one even had it front page! The national daily's covered the story but had their own photographers present! Basically, a guy I know lost a bet and dressed up as a leprechaun and sung Danny Boy at Carluke Cross and raised a bit of cash for cancer research!
I've been speaking to the photographer at one of the papers and he's asked me if I'd be interested in a bit of freelance work for the paper! I'm going to meet him to discuss it, I see it as being great experience. I have no idea what to charge for images though, can anyone give any advice on this? I don't want to do it too cheaply, but I know that the local papers don't pay much! I'm more interested in getting the experience and maybe some cash for new equipment, rather than making huge amounts of money!
