First DSLR, First Photo, Opinions???

Hey guys as the titile says, got my first DSLR yesterday after literally MONTHS of debating between brands, models etc but decided on the Canon 450d and it was defenetly worth it! Just got a quick snap here and was wondering what you guys thought! I have no previous photography experience so be gentle lol. The photo is my Dog called Alfie, hes a golden retriver.

as others have said it's a great shot... you seem to have a real eye for it and should do just fine with your D-SLR. As long as you have the eye for a good shot, you can learn the technical stuff as you go along!

Great shot, I think and this is only my opinion but it would be better if you lost the paw, I don't mean chop it of the dog.

actually he was sent into town to get dog food and instead he spent the money on a canon 450d.

a dog is for chrstmas, photography is for life

the paw looks like its at an odd angle, but dogs do find the strangest positions to sit.

other than that, personally i think its a really nice shot, especially for a first photo.
