Been contemplating doing this on my D7000 for a few days but it looks scarey on Nikon's update page, anyway I plucked up the courage and followed the instructions and thought well at least I can send it away if it goes the usual way things go when I normally update stuff.

To my surprise it worked and its not as scarey as I first thought, none of the upgrading A first then B, it does it all in one go, happy days, one D7000 with latest firmware installed and working.
 
Yep, just bought a D7000 and first thing I did was to upgrade the firmware to latest version. Thought the instructions on the Nikon site were nice and clear and it was a dead simple process.

Did you upgrade the Distortion Control as well? It's the same process just with a different file

No only the firmware for now, is it needed the distortion control as it seems fine

Its there so does update for a reason, so guess I will do it too
