Yes
There is a fireworks display in Liverpool tonight to mark the last visit of the QE2.

Don't know how long it will be, or where exactly the fireworks will be set off from, a barge I imagine, but don't quote me on that. ;)

I thing I'll venture out. :)

QE2 in Liverpool

May see some of you on the other side of the river. ;)

Pete is out an about getting shots of it, and I think it aiming to be there for the firworks. Dunno if he will be back on here before he does or not. He had some times etc for the fireworks but I didnt pay attention :(

It says in the link that the fireworks will be at 10.45pm.

Hopefully I'll be getting a lift off a friend across the river, and public transport may be patchy at that time.;)

Hmmm do I risk going down there in time for 10:45?
My daughter finishes brownies and is home for half 8 so I can go down after that...

Hmmmm decisions decisions.

I have decided I wouldnt get anything much different than last time :(

You may get the QE2 in the pic as well, and I don't think that will happen again. ;)

That aside, I can't see it being as big a fireworks display as the birthday celebrations.

I'll be there, and pete, and I'll probably be taking a friend :). Get your arses down there :P.

I'll be there too. Most likely at Seacombe. I was just down there and wow it was busy. Like really really busy. Awesome light for 5 minutes too :)

Just to inform folk that maybe getting wrong info. Many newspapers seem to think this will be the last visit to Liverpool or the Clyde. I have just taken the following itinerary from the Cunard site. So if you have missed it this year you've plenty of time to organize yourself for the real last visit.

Yeah I've heard the same thing. People are commenting on the Echo's website about the silly article they ran. Glad its not the last time, but at the same time the thought of it being so really made me get some good shots.

BBC News also said it was the last visit, tonight, too...

Doughnuts.

I't really P's me off as this is just lazy journalists, 2 mins on the net and they could have got their facts right. I'd just sack them.

Here's a few of my pics from last night. I decided to go to Seacombe rather than the Woodside location I have photographed firework displays from before on the river, if the barge would have been closer, as I expected, I could have got a tighter image. The council seems to like to do the unexpected when it comes to these types of events. ;)

I think this would have been a very good location for the recent 800th Birthday displays.

Lets see what everyone else who went got last night. :)

Yeah I was there, naturally :) The barge was odd. I spoke to the guys on it as they were out there. They said they were going to be in the middle of the QE2. Then they drove off so out came the 10-20 :) Your shots are similar to mine, just a different angle and you've got people. It was incredibly popular. Saw one drunk girl passed out and carried home, another drunk wanted to shake our hands.

And theres the definitive class test.

Passed out and carried home? Working class.
Shake everyones hand? Middle class :D

The hand shaker was walking around totally off his face saying "Don't worry, I've gone a bit mad, don't worry I've gone a bit mad, don't worry, I've gone a bit mad"..
