The TP 52 - 2025 firewireguy 52 / 2025 - Week 52 (New) and done!

Like the broken shot, the red works well, maybe using a pc/laptop screen as background would work to get a yellow background, I used a tablet screen to get a psychedelic background a while ago. Texture looks good but I keep looking at the different background colours

I'm with everyone else, the red background, just a slightly different shade of red from the match head, really works and your pancake shot is perfect for the theme.

Week 14 - Shadows

I had a few shots I quite liked and it's a bit of a coin toss which one I've picked

I've literally just watched a James Popsys videos where he talks about the 65x24 crop ratio, so thought I'd try it on this one:

And from the same walk I got my Week 15 Snappers Choice, which again, I've gone for the 65x24 crop on
Trying to edit my photos a little differently too as I normally add a lot of contrast, so I'm trying to tone that down and get something softer and maybe more film like

Good set, especially like the light in the second shadow shot. Crop is different on snapper's choice, find the houses are distracting, though can't move them :)

Nice set FWG. I like the graphic nature of the shadows shot you took (though I might have cropped out the photographer shadow in the lower right..;))

Thanks. I thought about cropping myself out, but then thought it all added to the theme

That's lovely - sharp where it needs to be, beautifully blurred elsewhere.

Thank you. Was trying it handheld as I couldn't be bothered with a tripod so had to open the aperture up and was pleased with the DoF

Week 17 - Stairs

Well I haven't managed to get out and see anywhere that has stairs, which is a bit depressing. So here are the stairs from the eldest's loft bed.

I like your geometric mono conversion making those insulators pop and the leading lines work well.

Symmetry is a beauty too, like how the light is highlighting the top of the fern fronds.

Yep - a lovely lit fern :)

Electricity pylons have often been a go-to for me, works well in B&W catching the light.

That fern is nicely lit, brings out the nature in the shot.

Thank you. I spent ages playing around with the B&W conversion trying to balance the lightness of the sky with the pylon. The colour version really pops with vibrancy, but I thought as I missed the last theme I better get in early this time.

Thank you. When I saw it I thought "dear diary... jackpot!" :D

Thanks, the pylons were full of interesting shapes and I got some nice closeups, but my 300mm I had was perhaps a bit too long and I liked having the cables in this shot too.

Good catch-up I particularly like the image of the fern.

Week 20 - Light and Dark (B&W tech)

This went down well after work today.

Background made from a piece of paper and a bin.

Two good images for "light and dark" and "figures" and your fern shot is very good.
