Fingers crossed - good news update!

crikey - hope it works out for you and Elf
fingers crossed for you

First reading of this thread, I must pay more attention in future:bat:

Hacker it is heartening to come across people like yourself who regard the life of an animal more important than the cost of saving it's life. I do not claim to know much about the equine world but would imagine others might have let the foal go rather than pay the price.
I sincerely hope little Elf pulls through 100%.

Same here! Everything still crossed for the little one :)

best of luck and all things crossed.

We've just heard that Elf has been given the all clear so she will be going tomorrow. They still don't know exactly what it was but they believe it was a viral infection contracted through the umbilical chord which hadn't quite healed.

Thank you very much for all your good wishes, both on here and by PM.

yay! It's our wishes that healed it :D

None of this modern medicine malarky!

This is great news ... so happy for her, and you! Glad it's pulled to the "nice" side of things :)

excellent news
as soon as Elf is settled - let's have some new pics!

That's great news Colin, but I don't fancy looking at the cost of your insurance for next year

The bad news is you can't insure foals under 28 days old - Elf was younger than that.

Although she was born to our mare Elf isn't ours so luckily we don't have to bear the insurance costs which at the last count would have paid for a brace of D3's and some very nice glass.

Yes! :woot: :woot: That is the best thing I have heard all day, actually make that all week :D

hope all is well now. look forward to new pics.
