Yes
I have been looking at the Fujifilm finepix S1600, but i'm umming and arring over it a bit...

My main focus is animals, not so much wildlife, but dogs. I have 2 huskies, who work in harness, and i want to be able to take faily clear pictures of them working, and also just running about having fun at the park.

I also like macro shots, these i can do on my little compact (currently using a samsung ES70, 12.2mp) but the action shots i have trouble with

I dont think im ready for a full SLR, and I also dont have the funds for one.

How good is the finepix?? can I get good results with fairly fast moving subjects?

I'm unsure whether to go for this, or to carry on with my compact and save for a full SLR

Not sure if the bridge camera game has moved on or not, but every one I've ever tried suffers from shutter lag. It might be small, but it is a concern when you want decent panning pictures of moving things, such as huskies!

I've owned several of the previous generation Finepix bridge cameras, and it was this shutter lag that contributed to me moving on to a DSLR, which I've since used to take excellent photographs of fast moving cars, planes, helicopters and indeed dogs. Haven't looked back! ;)

yea thats what worries me, that i will get it, and not be content, and still long for an SLR...

My SIL has an older finepix model, which shes gunna find for me so i can give it a go, just looking for some views from more experienced photographers

I've just bought this camera and have the same concerns as you, but my use is for family use, parties, holidays etc. I am just waiting for it to arrive.
