FinePix S1600 £85 refurb

I've just bought the above camera to replace or use instead of my wife's Olympus FE-5020. The main reason for buying a bridge SLR was shutter speed. My wife was getting very annoyed, as her camera had a long delay between shots, as well the speed at which the shot was taken, was very slow (so moving shots were missed).

My question is (as a noob) will the spec of the S1600 be enough to resolve my wife's issues? Thanks Ste
