fine art wall print layout?

Hi Guys

I will be printing some of my photos off for wall display. I will like to include a title, is it usual to have a wider border at the bottom of an image for titles and sigs?

If so whats the best proportions? it will be A3 landscape and portrait layouts to start with

It may look cheap or cheesy. I'd rather find the title on the sticker at the rear.

Are you talking mounts (and frames)?

It's quite normal to have a slightly greater mount area below the print aperture than above it regardless of inscriptions, but obviously this provides room for such. (The height of mount above is likely to be equal to the width on either side.) Inscriptions can be handwritten with an H or HB pencil (ink has a bolder presence and may compete for attention with the print). I'm assuming a near-white (conservation) board mount?
