finding my windows product key?

My laptop is getting on now (3yrs) and i'd like to know my product key in case I ever need to re-install.
It came with windows 8, but within a week of having the laptop (Dell inspiron) I had to call out an engineer to fix it, as it wouldnt charge when plugged in!
The engineer fixed the problem and also re-installed the OS (never asked why!!!)
He stuck the sticker with the product key on the bottom of the laptop, and it's now rubbed off almost completely!
Tried google, but none of the rsults i can find are for windows 8/10 (its now upgraded to W10)

any help much appreciated

If it's now on Win10 then it will reinstall OK and automatically show as activated so no need to enter any key as Microsoft have a record of your laptop in their database
 
Looks like you have the solution now, Carlo but if not there are loads of suggestions online. Just googled for Finding your Win 10 product key and got over 3.9 million results.
