Yes
As I go back through my old RAWs to edit them, I realised I haven’t taken many photos of where I currently live. I’m sure others will have taken photos of points of interest, or of common local things but in an interesting way.

Apart from searching Instagram and Flickr for inspiration, are there any other options? I’d love for there to be a map based app or site that would show me photos taken from a particular spot for example.

I've been having the same thought lately. Also being asked by friends overseas for pictures of where I live, I googled the place then went to maps then brought up the photos that people have uploaded to google - that provides a starting point (not a great one in my case but it was a start). Also I was looking at the photos entered for competitions by the local camera club, which led to a couple of locations.

OS and Google maps and street view plus a good pair of walking boots then go find your own pics. You might be surprised what turns up. :)

I use OS and Google maps to find places that might look interesting. Mainly woodland areas and hills or countryside. I take very few photos actually in Bristol where I live.

I'm also happy to go out for a few hours walking and only find one composition.
