Iv been watching this show and really enjoying it... weve got a studio meet comming up this month and have watched trying to get inspiration on poses and trying to see what lens's the togs use..

Anyway, theres a guy that uses canon but i cant tell what lens is being used.. im assuming its an 85mm L but its just a guess..

Anyway, with the poses im starting to get a bit jittery!! im seeing things id never had thought of.. i know that getting them to throw their heads just before taking the shot gives a nice bit of movement and gives life to the shot, but jeez.. id never had thought of the things they'd got em doing..

Theres me thinking (Somewhat romanticaly) that a few sessions in the studio and id be able to do it for a living.. lol... iv even been thinking about the possibilities of getting somewhere that i could kit out as a studio..

I know I know.. i dont need the 'its not as easy ect ect' lectures about it being fun as a hobbie and not enough work and the anyone can take a picure but to be great stuff.. i know im a dreamer..

But what WAS that lens?????

Its in the title..

Find me the Face..

Its about 2 model scouts that get given a brief each week and they've goto 'find the face'.. its good.. its a competition between the two of em..

Im suprised you guys havent seen it!! its right up our street..

Yeah seen that show a few times, it's not bad, especially when you're bored at 3am.

Any clues on what the show you been watching is  although as a Nikon user I still probably wont be able to help :)

The other photographer uses a Nikon. She uses it (think it's a D200 or D300) with the pop-up flash...in a studio...seems stupid that the equipment in said studio probably costs upward of a grand and she's using the pop-up flash. Her photos are no where near as good as the dude using a Canon.

The guy with the Canon isn't using the 85, I think it might be a 24-105. Hard to tell, they only show the photographer for quick flashes.

Naa, its not the 24-105, its quite a thick but stubby lens.. im sure its a prime.. id say it may be in the region of 1.2 appeture as its got such a wide body for a short lens..

The woman tog, im sure once she used a Sigma lens!! but the Nikon and sigmas look similar dont they.. and i think she uses the pop up flash to fire the main lights, and for a little fill.. though im no expert..

wouldnt load for me Sheep.. but if its called 'Find Me The Face' thats the one..

Its good to watch for our up comming premier..

Thats the chappie..

In fact thats the episode iv just watched..

Mmm.. just had a look at one on ebay, it dont look like it.. but id need to see it ON a camera to get the look right..

Yeah, it could be, but i cant help thinking that it still looks too big.. fatter and longer that the 50..

Thats just my eyes most likley..

Its an interesting proggy though..

 im not THAT bothered!! lol.. just wondered.. whatever it is i cant afford one!! :bang:

The 50f1.2 is very fat.I have the 85L and was shooting a model from about the same distance as he was using a 1dsmk2 and all I could frame was head and shoulders thats What is making me think 50L:)

yer, i was thinking that too, the reason i thought it was the 85 was the shere size of the thing.. the size of the crop was more like the 50...
