Not really been to Gosport, so cant really comment....but Pompey are my rivals!! LOL!!

Prefer Bournemouth personally - its got such a diverse population, the beach is brill and the shopping rocks! People seem much friendlier than in Soton, and its a nicer city.
 
Its mostly old people down here (no offence) so there is no real social atmosphere pompey and Gosport just seem more alive especially in winter as the island effectively shuts down.
