Excellent flash

Would that be as good as a Nikon SB600? Can you use it off camera with the D90? (Might be an obvious question, I know nothing about flashes!)

Well I have not tried the SB600 but the Di622 does have excellent reviews and seems to compare well

You can use the Di622 off camera, it can act as a slave using the on camera pop up flash (or another flash) to activate it

Built in flash at -1.0ev IIRC.
Auto white balance with yukky dim indoor lights too

Oh yeah - hit the auto fix button in Elements 8 as well.
