ive been using Lightroom 3 for all minor editing and have just upgraded to 5.7, plenty new stuff
Any tips, or things to do and avoid?
Had a quick play, quite impressed with the spot fix healing thing but just wondered if anyone upgraded like me and found anything interesting.
Won't get a chance to use it for a while so any tips appreciated

Pay attention to your process version ...

LR6 is still available as a perpetual license and current dot release is 6.3 though in cc you get added functionality that will not appear in perpetual license until v7

When I bought my upgrade from 5.7 to 6 I think the cost of the upgrade was the same if I was upgrading from 3, but not 100% sure???

Im a,ways slow to upgrade anything. I remember lots of people moaning about LR4 so never bothered even looking at it
I never upgrade the iPhone when that happens as it's always full of glitches
Most game upgrades fix one thing but break two others etc, so I think I,ll settle where I am for a year or two and watch for a good upgrade when the glitches get ironed out

I upgraded from lr3 to lr6, thnk it was about 55 quid from the Adobe site, still on ver 6.1 for now

Mainly so it was easier for my daughter and myself to work on raw files as we both had newish cameras.

I've always worked raw files, is it easier/better with the upgrade? I never knew it was that cheap that's a good deal
I keep thinking about cc subscription to get a newer photoshop but I'd need to use it more to justify the cost. Think it's around £200 per year isn't it?

Its easier for us because it saves converting to dng format, our newer cameras weren't supported by lr3 and its raw editor.
We don't use photoshop, so the cc version didn't really appeal and not worried about keeping up to date with the latest version of lr

Just looked and to buy the standalone lr6 as an upgrade from lr3 is £59.09 or the cc version which includes lr and ps is £8.57 a month.

If you use ps the cc version is a good price although obviously you have to pay every month to keep it working.

£8,57 a month for both latest Lightroom and Photoshop

Is it? I thought it was £18 odds, has that come down in price or was I thinking of something else?
Apart from the cost, im not a fan of the idea it's not mine, and they could raise the price as they see fit and hold your catalogue to ransom

Upgraded to to cc about 2 weeks ago from aperture. So far so good doing using Lightroom for most things and photoshop for the rest. I will give it a go for £8.57/month
