Finally taken the plunge!

It's been a long time coming, had to keep putting it off for one reason or another... :thinking:

But I finally got around to ordered the following:-
  • Canon BGE2 Battery Grip
  • Canon 30D Body Only
  • Canon 17-40mm f/4L
  • Canon 580EX Speedlite
  • Sandisk 8GB Extreme III Card
Let me just say this... it was NOT an easy choice though the latter choices would have involved me spending a LOT more money. :lol:

This should work though I know I'll be wanting another lens REALLY soon :naughty:

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked! I pondered over waiting for the mkII for a couple of days to be honest. From what I can see, it offers more benfits to the 1D users (with the LCD settings controlling settings of the flash) than to the 30D. I know it's quite a bit faster at recycling but I dunno if it's worth the extra $100. I'll probably kick myself in the backside in the end though! :bonk:

I see your point, its like i have a 550EX and fancy upgrading to a 580 but can't see the point as i hardly use it. Its that upgrade bug :)

8GB is a bit of an overkill isn't it? I would of gone for 2 x 4gb's or even 4 x 2GB's.

congrats on the kit, bet you will not put it down for a week!

Tell you the truth, I just assumed "bigger is better"! That's how it is in the States!!! :lol:

In seriousness though, why would you prefer going with 2x 4's or 4x 2's?

Ah, just assumed they were pretty reliable. So what you're saying then is - I HAVE to buy more cards? Okay, but I'm sending the missus in your direction! :lol:
