Regards Mark.

Hi cracking shots I'm hoping it will be as good for studio work, how much did you pay for your lens any good shops in Manchester or on line,i have the "nifty Fifty" which is a great cheep lens my studio will be bright and white nice and airy and well any lighting combination i choose, really i like fast action shots just let the customers play, then a few posed ...i was thinking of a wide angle as well any recommendations,

I have this in mind canon EF-S 17-85mm f4 5.6 IS USM what do you lot think

Hi yes gulp but nothing to good for my new venture ;) what do you think of the Sigma, and when i finally get to open the studio your more than welcome to the open day, we are having two one for the agents, management team, family, and one for people off this forum where they can come and have a look a drink and a chat, i said when i am up and running forum members will be able to use this, for a donation to the site, one of your pics, and maybe get to watch you work, for a hour or so, if any one wants to use it longer or in private that will be a differant charge, there would be a cost but not mega bucks, i am more into picking peoples brains, i as have lost mine.

Regards Mark.

It sounds promising...where abouts in Manchester will it be based?

To be revealed at a later date ...Hush Hush wink wink, not telling till i am up and running in the nicest possible way, it's stressful enough with out chatting to much about it on here, i like to keep it light hearted,

Don't mix business with pleasure, and i have a long way to go yet.

Thanks for asking your invite is noted

Was just asking fella. :)

I'd be up for coming exploring the studio once you were on your feet, never been in a studio so it'd be good to see what's what.

My search for the 24-105 L started in Manchester !!! I live in Meltham nr Huddersfield so not far away.

I looked in Jessops and it was £800 then Jacobs on the next street was £700 but they didnt have it in stock ..... So I had a quick look on Amazon and got it for £613.90. My g/f wanted to just buy it in Jessops but tbh I only went in there to have a look and try it on my camera because they always seem to be so expensive. Its the first time ive used Amazon but you cant argue with nearly a £190 saving and 2 days delivery :woot: :woot: :woot:

Amazon Link

I got the EF-S 17-85mm f4 5.6 IS USM with my 40D and then sold it after buying the 24-105 L ......... IMO the 24-105 is a million times better, but then there is also the price :suspect:

Many thanks for that yes price is a driving force behind everything, i can source one for £589.00 free PP warranty, just had some IT quotes for our system not much change out of a grand ...but then 8 years ago i bought my first computer and that was 1200 quid so not bad in that case. once again thanks
