Probably not. Half of those are useless crap you'd never use.
You'd be better buying the individual ones you need, than a load of random ones you dont.
 
Hi, It depends what kind photography you are going into in the first place. secondly and I keep saying this "why buy a 2 or 3 or even £400 lens then cover it with cheap filters IMO you would be better to buy one filter for whatever photography you are going into but make it a good one, Thirdly, Take your time look around it is supprising the differance there is in price for the same filter anything from a couple pounds to 5 or 6 pounds.

thanks yer that has helped, i did get my self a polarzing filter for £20 off of amazon for water shots with fish. but not to sure what kind of filters do what.
 
If you dont know what they do, chances are you wont need them until you do.

No, to start with, no filter is good as a screw in except for UV and Circular Polarisers (for digital at least).

One thing to think about, say you are using a graduated filter, half dark half clear and it screws in, you are wanting to shoot a landscape with a sunset and you've got 1/3rd of the frame as sky.

Ooops! you cant adjust the position of the grad as its fixed half way.


Its little things like that!

Kit yourself out with a Cokin set, warehouse express do a starter kit, buy an adapter ring for your lens and like has been mentioned before buy filters that you are intending to use.

Which will probably be a couple of grads, a few ND (neutral density) filters, and maybe some tinted and a PL (polariser).
There generally I see as all you need (or all I would ever need).

If you are interested in trying different things on a budget, check out small local camera/ second hand shops. There is quite often a selection of old filters that someone else has bought and never found a use for.

As people above have said, I'd think a Cokin set would be the best direction for your of you want to try a few filters, though for a lot of effects, surely photoshop et al is the answer? Granted, I don't know how to replicate most effects in PS, but learning that would be cheaper and more use than loads of filters.
