Filters???????

Hi

I'm still quite new to photography and on this forum and in photography genrally people talk a lot about filters, either on their cameras or applied in photoshop. I do have a few different ones given to me from a relative, but I tend only to use a UV and a poloriser.

Does anyone know of somewhere that I can read up on what filters there are and what they do and how they should be used. I think I'm really missing a trick in my photography by not using them more but don't know where to start???

Apart from all the good info at that website a good general rule is don't take pics through extra bits of glass or plastic unless you really need to.
