I've done a lot of googling and ended up confused. I have a Canon 16-35mm on a full frame sensor and my Cokin P sized filter holder is visible at the edges of the shot at the wider end so I was looking at bigger square filter systems. Having recovered from the heart-attack I had when I saw the costs, I was wondering if 100mm would be large enough or do I need 150mm to avoid vignetting at 16mm. I am mainly looking to use grads.

Might be worth trying a cut down Cokin P holder so there's only one filter slot rather than 2. Probably cheaper than a 100mm system!

Do you have the WA holder for the P-series? That should help, many report no vignetting at 15mm FOV using it (i.e. sigma 10-20 @ 10mm on DX). Or, 100mm should do it.

Doh! never even occurred to me that there was such a thing as a P series wide angle holder, or to cut down a standard one, it's got to be worth a try. I knew asking on this forum would come up with some decent pragmatic solutions, many thanks

u should be able to get the wide angle ones cheap off ebay or amazon
if your filters happen to be square or ungraded, u could probably have the holder horizontal and have less in the frame ?

Thanks, I'm really looking at using grads so horizontal is not really an option
