Where do you buy yours reason I ask is I'm looking at getting a new polarizet for my cokin set and prices vary on certain auction site has anyone bought filters from china if so is there any difference in quality .

+1 for Kood. Yeah, they aren't Lee, but im not a purest at the moment and can't justify a filter system that's worth more than my current camera. They are in the pipeline for the future, but not for a few years.
As for where I get mine, ebay. Cheaper than premier ink by about £5.

I've had no colour cast or defects in the filter. I genuinely have no complaints regarding them. I haven't used any alternatives but they're rather good if im honest. I'm buying a couple more for my holiday I'm that confident with them.

With the kood ones do they screw onto a lens adapter or slot it to the cokin filter holder ?

Both. Kood filters are very good quality and don't hurt the wallet.

Mark, I use Lee filters and have never had a problem with them.. however, initially, I had a set of Cokins and they left a colour cast.. I ended up sending them back and getting a refund...

I know others that have had problems with Cokins too, so just something to be wary about.. ... I had the Pro versions too...

One plus here. I bought the cokin and don't like them at all. They do have color cast and don't dear stack them unless you want to be horrified by the results. I'll sell you mine very very cheap. I want the lee set up but I need one or two more lenses and really would like a second body so the filter is not a priority for me right now.

whats the difference between a linear polariser and a polariser both roughly same price atm ?

A linear won't work with DSLRs. Well, it will screw the autofocus up anyhow. Stick with a circular polariser.

I was looking at uv filters and some had (C) after them and others (N), what doe the letters mean and what's the difference?

Just ordered a kood polariser could had gone for a Chinese version for less than a tenner but old saying came into my head you get what you pay for so for £20 free p/p think I had a bargain tnx for all the comments and advice really appreciated as always

I would guess at Crap and Not needed, but I might be wrong!

There won't be any difference, they will all be much the same and not very good. I would imagine its coated and non coated. Coated being the slightly better of the two.

Is the price of the Lee system/filters worth it over Cokin et al.?

I've heard mixed reviews...

Yes.

Hitech comes a close second. My experience with Cokin was a horrible brown muddy cast over every picture. And not recoverable in PP.

What's the difference between cokin a series and p series filters ? Will they still fit the same holders ? Just waiting on my partner to fetch my kood over from Bristol now

The a series are smaller rhan the p series. You basically need different holders. P series filters will not fit into an a series holder.
