Can anyone suggest good reading/training material for using filters? Many thanks

What sort of filters? There isn't a huge amount to know. I'm sure we could answer any specific questions pretty easily.

I am trying to understand what the different filters actually do.

I have seen ND filters, CPL etc.

If I was wanting to get into long exposure daylight photography e.g. beach scenes etc, what kit would you recommend for starting out.

I really dont know where to start!

Don't want to be another "all the gear, no idea" newbie!!!!

Neutral Density filters reduce the amount of light without altering the colour.

Polarisers allow light of one polarisation only through. They are used to remove reflections.

"The Photographers Guide to Filters" by Lee Frost would be £10 well spent.

Going to the Lee Filters website does give some explanation/examples.

Excellent, thanks to all who took the time to reply.

Much appreciated. I'll follow some of these links.

As a starter kit, what would people recommend??

Lee ... as someone else said, buy right buy once :)

Thanks again for the quick replies.

This forum offers so much help/information!
