Filter step up ring vignetting?

Hi,

I have a 62mm Circular Polarizer which I want to use on my kit lens. I don't want to buy a new filter for the kit lens as in my opinion it would be a waste of money. The kit lens is the Canon 450D one so it has a 58mm filter thread.

My question is, would a step up ring from 58-62mm cause vignetting?

Nope. Would be fine.

You are getting larger (IE Wider) with the step up ring so I would have thought it would be ok.

Also, would it be possible to get a 62mm screw in lens hood for my kit lens to screw into the adapted filter? If so, could anyone recommend one?
