Filter stacking

Hello, possibly again
I wonder if someone could advise me on an issue I appear to be having with using a circular polarising filter on top of a UV filter. I have stacked filters on my 350d on several lenses of different filter sizes and focal lengths with no problems.
I recently purchased a 5dMkII and have a Tamron 28-75mm lens with a 67mm filter size. I know there are schools of thought that say a UV filter is pretty much a waste of time but, just to be on the safe side, I have put on a Hoya UV Pro1 filter but if I then add a HOYA Circular PL I find that I am getting fairly heavy vignetting in the corners. I'm just wondering what the reason would be for this. Any ideas, anyone ?

the stacked filters are now so high they are visible in the field of view for the lens. Especially at the wide end. The FF goodness of your new 5d2 means that the wide end of a lens is now considerably wider then you were used to

I use UV filters for protection on all my lenses, but you should take UV/protection filters (or any other filter) off when adding a CPL or other 'effects'-filters.
As stated the 'depth' is too much and the lens is 'seeing' the filter-ring when stopped-down.
If you're as paranoid as I am, be reassured in the knowledge that protection duties are now being carried out by the even more expensive CPL filter...lol

You may not have noticed it before because you were shooting at wider apertures perhaps...

Thanks both
That must be it but that I never noticed the effect when using the 350d and my old EOS600 which was full frame before there was such a term as full frame, so as to speak. Definitely notices more the further out I zoom which I guess makes sense in line with the filter getting in the way which I agree must be what is happening. I'll have to remember to take the UV off when polarising !
