Yes
Merry Christmas everybody! :)

I'm hoping you guys can help clear up my mild confusion over how filter holders work. I've never actually seen one of these and don't have the option of walking into a shop as the majority of camera shops here in India don't stock them.

So, if I sent off for one, would it fit my lens as long as I get the correct adapter ring with it? (I currently use a kit lens with 58mm thread).

If I decide to upgrade my lens later, are the holder and all the slides still compatible as long as I get the adapter ring to suit?

Can I use a square slide in conjunction with a round filter eg. circular polariser plus ND grad?

Are all slides the same size? If not does any one size offer the widest compatability/availability?

That's all I can think of for now.

Cheers!

Yes :)

Lee filters (which are expensive) have some useful videos on their site of how to use their filters - they're probably on YouTube too. Theirs come in two sizes to suit either smaller cameras like the Fuji system or larger cameras - both square filters - they might make others. I am no expert but I found their videos helpful when I was choosing. There are other cheaper makes that are similar.

Well, that clears up everything. Thanks!

I've sent off for an ND grad set. I can't wait to start playing around with it!
