Hi All,

looking to but a filter set. I intend to use it mostly on my 10-24 and 17-50 lenses.

Researching the subject i see that hitech filters seem a good compromise in cost vs quality. This leads me to 2 questions:-
  • Which size - 100*125 or 100*150?
  • Which filters? Initially i think i am looking for a 0.6 and 0.9 soft and a 0.9 hard, but would appreciate advice.

Ive seen a good offer on ebay for hitech filter holder, ring and 3 filters for 145, so tempted to order soon.

I'd go for 100x150. They can follow you should you ever go full frame.

Filter choice is personal, but what you have chosen sounds like a good start, covers most bases.

My thoughts exactly, must admit that I hardly ever use my Lee soft Grad as the Hard grads are pretty much ideal for all situations with a crop sensor as the graduation line isn't quite so obvious as you might think

Still pondering this. I (currently) have little intention of going full frame (too big, too much money).

Can anybody with a Nikon 10-24 and a 125 grad filter give me an idea as to how high / low the grad can be placed? I intend to use the same filter kit on my x100 and want to keep that kit as small / light as possible.
