Anyone here is doing filmmaking as well - not only photography? If so, please give me your experience. Is film-making worth to add your photography experience/work?
Yes, but basically it's up to you, Video is different to still photography. Always shoot more footage than you think you will need, sound is very important, good visuals will count for nothing if the sound is poor, I use a Rode Video mic on my 7D but a separate sound recorder like a Tascam DR07 MkII can provide better quality. Don't forget a dead cat windshield. Editing will take a lot longer than the shooting, a one hour wedding video took me two weeks! Long shots (time) rarely look good, cut between shots. This little video was shot a different times during the day then edited to give the feeling of a continuous journey. There are plenty of Youtube videos on stuff.
Back in the distant past (as in "school photographic club" ) I did experiment with making my own photographic plates using glass sheets and coating them with a photo-sensitive coating gloop that the chemistry teacher had cooked up - but while it was an interesting diversion, it's not something i'd bother with these days.
but of course, you're probably referring to Videography - so I guess i'll get my coat.
I've occasionally shot a bit of video and stuck it up on vimeo, and I keep thinking I'd like to it it more . But it's such a different art than photography, I just end up with a bunch of disjointed clips without a narrative. At some point I might pick up some reading on the subject then dedicate some time to trying to do it properly.
