You are also in a hard water area - what are your final steps at the end of developing?

I do a few rinses with tap water, then a rinse with tap water and a couple of drops of Ilford wetting agent.

Just to say - thanks folks - the snow has gone. Using 1.5ml (roughly) rinse aid per film, instead of a couple of drops, and the 'finger squeegee'. My life is transformed!

Don't bother with the finger squeegee - the rinse aid does the same job, but with far less risk of causing any scratches or damage.
