Film Use Up...

lets hope it keeps on an upward trend . and does it make the fusty and crusties the coolest bit on the forum ?

Yep, we're down with the kids innit.

Bloody hipsters!!! ;)

We don't need validation from some fly by night blog to tell us we're über cool the F&C section has always been the coolest part of the forum  we're also well aware that it's hip to be square :D

well, my film usage is certainly up - i've managed to shoot more rolls of film this year already than I have for the past 3 years combined...

dunno how that'll have helped sales though, as it's all been out of the fridge or freezer

(could be a while before I need to replenish as well - but as it's all reasonably old stock, I really aught to shoot this lot before buying in additional rolls...)

Well my 12/13 year old grandson is brainwashed digital...offered him a film camera but not interested.......but got to admit my grandson's and grandaughter's instant digital shots are funny from Ipad (or whatever its called) when they take shots of me and use a program to distort my face

I totally thought the title of this post meant people were posting the shots they took to 'use up' a film... when i was a kid this usually consisted of my face (90s selfie) or posters on my wall...

but i can see that its not! my 8yr old god daughter now has my first digital camera (fuji s304) as she was always badgering me when i would take my Canon to gatherings/birthdays - she used it at the last one, and altho it was a bit heavy for her, she improvised with her knees to keep the lens steady and took some pretty good group shots - she was very good at people direction! Maybe i'll be able to tempt her to film one day, i'm starting back with film.

Film is never going to be mainstream again, people are too lazy for that and prefer the ease and convenience of digital, but like vinyl records, film seems to be getting popular again.

At the end of last year, UK vinyl record sales were the highest they have been for fifteen years. I suspect the statistics for film are similar.

Steve.

Well I have a very good setup for records, but as I'm gradually going deaf over 10 years isn't used much, well maybe I can convince my 13 year old Grandson that analogue is great and then persuade him onto film...h'mm start looking for Pink Floyd "the wall" at the bootie ;)

Well I'm doing my bit, bought a film camera ten days ago (after using digital only for some time) went out on Sunday shot a roll, developed Monday now waiting for my scanner to arrive,
loads of fresh TRi-X and HP5 in fridge.

Upate scanner arrived while typing this, another steep learning curve no doubt.

there was this little article on the BBC yesterday. I quite like the look of the spotmatic and satellite dish thing

I have a few Spotmatics. I would like a black one like that though.

I used to have a 'satellite dish' flash like that for an Agfa Isolette too.

You can put film in these things!? Wow!

I just wear mine around my neck instead of a medallion! :)
