Film SLR help please!

For those of you who are interested you can see the results of my first foray with film here

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Next up will be a Fuji Sensia 200 which I'd like to get cross processed - anybody know any tricks for getting this done on the high street? I've heard that some people mark it as normal film and take it into Asda or somewhere like that in the hope that the Saturday kid won't notice the difference

Just be frank about it. Some labs will charge you extra, some won't care, some will refuse to do it & some will charge no more but only offer a 24 hour service (so they can put your film through as the last of the day ;) ).

As has been briefly mentioned to get super grainy images expose Ilford HP5 normally ISO 400 at ISO 1600 and the adjust the developing to suit (a decent lab will do this for you - just remember to tell them what you've done.)

I used to do this all the time and loved the results, grainy and contrasty - especially when printed at the higher paper grades.
