Right then i'm trying to scan in the wedding shots from Friday, I did the test roll ok last week and began scanning using the same settings in Silverfast (I havent scanned anything since so it loaded with whatever settings I last used). I immediately noticed that the scan did not match the preview, theres a strong yellow/green tint on the scan not in the preview. This goes away when scanning at lower resolution! As long as I scan at less than 5000px wide it's fine, go to the size I actually want to scan at and it changes colour!

What do we reckon - Silverfast issue or Scanner issue?

EDIT: Here's the issue:

I would always blame silverfast first but then I really hated that piece of software. I would not scan at any more than 2400ppi anyway, I find I just end up with some softness and other unwanted effects with my 9000f.

What are you trying to scan? Colour neg? Slides? Have you scanned this particular film before? Are the scenes you are scanning similar to those you tested? It may be a white balance problem.

are you able to check the TIF file's been tagged with the correct colour profile?

Well I have no answer for your problem but when I scan sometimes the scan result has a colour cast, then all I do is remove it in Photoshop.
Why do I sometimes get a colour cast scanning with a V750 when a Fuji frontier machine can get the colours near enough spot on, on the same neg? Well I've never found the answer :(

Fuji Frontier £110,000 (one hundred & ten thousand!) may be the reason ;)

 ...and operated by unskilled staff too

Actually the scans at my Asda's are so good, I'd rather spend time touching the hairs and spots up, than scan the negs myself...if only they would scan at higher resolution for large prints.
