Well then... thats mine in, a few hours ago. Not happy with it, but there you go.

Mines in, I spent a while trying to make minor corrections to the verticals and realised one of my references was actually off vertical irl and the other I gave up on...

well mines in, was a tossup between 3 that i took. Although fave one is a bit abstract so ive played safe since im not really sure of the judges at the moment and how theyd take it.

Managed to get a shot I'm fairly happy with, not saying the judges will be though. :D:D

Down to a choice of two, the rest of the family like the other one, IYKWIM...

well i managed to get my april portrait done over the weekend too. Its a bit annoying i cant post any other shots from the set until mid may now! these rules are a tad annoying.

Mine's in for March. Went for my first choice in the end. The family choice was livelier but I decided against it on technical grounds...

There was mild panic shortly before submitting, when I realised my standard scan workflow adds a CC-BY notice with my name in it. Some frenzied searching later, after wondering if exiftools runs on a Mac, I discovered there's a box to untick on the export preset from Aperture to not export metadata! Since I have a spcial preset for POTY, that should be fixed for ever and aye...

Damn, just picked up an e-mail from Darren (Cowasaki) telling me my POTY image was too large.....needed to send another, smaller image in before midnight but I only just saw the e-mail.....grrrr should have checked the sizes first.

Oh no! I set a LR export option for POTY, I just need to remember to use it.

That's a real shame Andy. An export preset seems like the way to go...

^^^ You could well be right guys but I don't know what it means or how to do one.....

Thats a bloomin shame :( something like that should just be a resubmit, so long as its clearly the same image just sized properly being submitted. Its not like the judges are quick off the bat anyway and there's few enough filmies submitting as it is.

I've asked Darren if I can re-submit today, just waiting for a response.

If I was running a competition like this and an image was submitted too large, I would just re-size it myself.

Steve.

As you know last year, my May entry was disqualified for being 1800 and not 1600,my mistake, but,no e-mail just disqualified when the results were posted. I think you have been treated very well this year, shame you did not see the e-mail.

I know how you feel Andy. Is there a better way?

My bad, rules is rules and its a big prize so they have to be strict. Just have to try harder for the rest of the comp. Its just annoying because I really thought about this shot and planned the trip specifically to get it. Nevermind its only a bit of fun really.

It is gutting Andy, I'm paranoid about it and it takes me a long time just to make sure I've got everything right, even then I'm worried cI've missed something.

Also, it's one of the main reasons I hardly ever post stuff up on the forum or on Flickr anymore, just in case something is recognisable and I get disqualified for posting a comp entry up elsewhere.

Oh dear, here we are nearly half way through the month, 3 films ready to go for processing, and AFAICR nary an April POTY shot on them :( . I've got a few possible candidates for May, and plenty more ideas for May, but have bottled the 2 slight possibilities for stranger portraits that have passed me by so far (each gone in a couple of seconds, though I could have chased after if I hadn't bottled it), and I've thought of nothing interesting that could fit the theme "space". :( :( :(

Same here Chris, need to get my finger out.

It's more brain into gear, for me!

Struggling to get May's shot, weather looks to have taken a turn, I was going to shoot some Velvia but I've not got my E6 developing sorted yet so I'd need to pay for it and I'm struggling for colour inspiration...

Hmm, might have to just get a shot on the infernal machine (D3100) it'll probably be a nul points any way so not much point in spending on p+p and developing.

Any way, well done guys some cracking shots in there.

I meant to congratulate the March film points winners before this, so well done guys. Particular congratulations to @Steve for a stunning shot. That Velvia really shows the digi guys, I reckon!

My entry for April is in, yet another long shot but I have a little more hope than earlier rounds. Some folk have been complaining about the themes, and the number of participants usually drops a bit, so chance alone should help. It would be nice to get out of the small group of filmies with null points!

Just shot a roll of fp4, some selfies and a couple of the current Mrs Snap. Devved and drying, hopefully these will be better than the last roll.

Thanks Chris. Yep Velvia is just beautiful. I expect to use it again for the May theme if I get the right subject matter.

Darn it to heck. I might have to put a digital shot in this month. Please don't judge me too harshly!

Steve.

I have a couple that should be ok, just need to decide which one and get it sent off this evening. Talk about last minute, I must get better organised for next month's.

Andy

... and remember to get your sizes right this time, Andy (and everyone else)!

Mine went in a couple of days ago when I realised there was no chance of anything better...

Once again my inability to do anything before the 28th of the month has cost me dear, I've got two rolls of film that I couldn't get processed so have submitted yet another substandard and rather disappointing shot. But at least I've entered, this time last year I'd only entered 2 photos so that's a big improvement in quantity if not quality :D

If its any consolation, I got all my rolls developed and still entered substandard shots :D

I've got one possible for May, sitting on my wall for assessment. One film in an envelope waiting for the film in camera to be finished (3 shots to go) AND the film in my wife's recently rediscovered mju I to be finished (by her, 4 shots to go). Postage is too high not to batch these...

I'm waiting for my 4 rolls to come back from Peak, hopefully there will be something in there suitable.... :nailbiting:

First roll back from Asda a couple of days ago, crushing disappointment (as ever) a couple that may be worth re-scanning, nearly finished my backup roll hopefully my other ideas are less bad.

Just realised it's now the 20th... Better get my finger out!!

Its funny going to even 24 exp after using the RB for 99% of my proper photography, its feels like I'm being hedonistic taking a bracket or a slightly different take on a subject.

well done Mr Raglan. Lovely shot and creeps you in front :) I got absolutely nothing to enter for this month apart from dull generic shots and i know the zoo month is going to be a waste since ive nothing longer than 50mm on any of my cameras!

Yep, well done Nick, knocked mine into the proverbial cocked hat. I really must try harder and do something different, I'm just posting carp at the moment. I think I would be better off throwing caution to the wind and doing some mad stuff rather than sending in mediocre boring pish. Go down in flames I think is the motto from now on.
