Film Photographer of the Year 2025 - Discussion Thread

From the Rules and Themes thread back in December: https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/t...her-of-the-year-2025-rules-and-themes.764538/

Entries cannot be changed once submitted. However, if you find that Flickr etc over sharpens your image or a similar issue, then you are free to re-upload the image again with small changes to make sure that it looks it’s best on the theme thread. To clarify, you cannot change your image for another one, but you can re-upload the same image again with minor amendments which affect the way it’s displayed.

Thanks for that Peter

I'm away this weekend so if I haven't done the points for July by Monday please feel free to give me a nudgew

Congratulations to participants and thanks for showing some lovely photos.

Its getting tight at the top and exciting to see such a close battle.

Come on FishyFish, you can do it!

PS. thanks Sirch for your hard work.

I've added a shot to the thread, but I've now changed my mind and would like to submit a different one in its place - can I change it?

I ask, partly because I don't want to do something 'illegal', but also because someone (@Barney) has already liked it and should probably be given the chance to change their mind.

Personally, given the tight-knit nature of this group, I'd offer some flexibility if other regular participants agree

I tend to agree, with the caveat that it's maybe only once or twice a year and done within a day or so

I am of the opinion, based on my experience this year, that almost all photographers from the film section would be minded to encourage entries and participation rather than stifle it.

If it was the last week and tight at the top and Cluster or Kevin wanted to change their images, that perhaps would require more careful consideration.

I was offered similar good grace previously although I did not end up taking advantage of it. So in conclusion no problem here, but as a newbie and not aware of any historical altercations I will bow to the assessment of the majority.

As long as Kell's replacement picture is not better than the one I plan on entering, then it's fine by me.

Seriously though, I don't mind personally.

Que Kell coming up with the photograph of the year.

HA HA! :D

Congratulations Kell, a lovely photo.

Well deserved.

Yet again more outstanding photo's IMV.

Here's the standings for the year to date

Its all to play for in second place

And we have a winner! Congratulations to @Kevin Allan for a well deserved win.

And well done to all for participating as always there has been a lot of excellent photography.

I've really enjoyed the experience of taking part in this challenge as it helped to provide a structure for my photography throughout the year.

I do hope that we get some more people entering in 2026.
