2023! Where does time go?

Assuming there is enough interest in running FPOTY again next year I am happy to run it on the same basis if you can put up with my lose grasp of how to operate a calendar, equally I am happy for someone to take over if they want to. So if anyone fancies having a go please post below or message me.


Also please suggest up to 5 themes that you would like to shoot for FPOTY next year by posting in this thread, in a week I'll put up a poll so that we can have a list of themes to start shooting from December onwards.

Thank you for running the comp for the past couple of years - I think you're doing a great job. These things can be a lot of work, so a few missed dates here and there are more than forgiveable. I'm happy to have you continue at the helm.

Fully agree with Nige on this, so please carry on next year Chris.

Some theme ideas would be

Crafted/designed by nature

Crafted/designed by humans (don't think we can say man-made nowadays. )

Water, anything from a puddle to an ocean.

Structure, old, new, either temporary or permanent.

Like F1.2, an attempted house move and too much work stopped me this year but with a couple of new old film cameras, I'm keen to have another try next year.

@Cluster I'll be starting a digital version, DPOTY, in parallel with FPOTY, with mostly the same themes at least for the first year.

Thoughts for themes

I prefer themes that are adjectives or adverbs rather than nouns.

1. Symmetrical
2. Strong
3. Shiny
4. Small
5. and allowing for a wild card month - Chacun à son goût

Just a thought , The more complex the Themes the less people may take part ?
May be worth simplifying things so more people will have a go.

My shot for Jam is in, I have chosen to use 2 cameras side by side Leica M9 at base ISO (160) for Digital and Leica MP for film using Portra 160. I have taken the same subject with each camera with the same lens FoV.

My symmetry is in, I was hoping to try and better the shot but looking at the weather for the rest of the month I'm unlikley to. As per usual I've shot the same subject on both digital and film side by side for the DPOTY and FPOTY.
