Not sure if this is allowed in here :police: but here goes

Any interest in a Film camera only day out ? London / Essex on a Sunday

Could be in London or around our numerous costal locations , Maldon maybe

Meet say 10am , Pub lunch , head for home 3-4 pm ish

Then at a later date post up some photos on the thread

Just a thought :)
 
Sounds very much like a good idea and pretty much the way a normal f and c meet goes especially the pub bit.
Its a bit far for me but I'm sure that some of the southern softies... oops I mean southern members (snigger) would be interested.

Essex on a Sunday might be hard for quite a lot of people, forcing train connections through that London. But I suppose it depends on where... still leaf colour in Epping Forest (is that in Essex?)? I'd certainly be interested in either if the dates and travel worked out.
 
I'll try and make it depending on dates and if I'm not working etc.
 
Well I'm up for anything in the south east (except London) h'mm well as long as it's warm and not in winter.
 
Saturday or Sunday would be good for me.

Dunno about the centre of Bristol city (can't remember if I've been there) but you are in a VG position for driving to some great areas not to too far away....IIRC Tony Robinson did one of his walks crossing the Clifton suspension bridge.

Be good to go to Bristol again but we have have two F&C meets in Bristol over the last few years. How about Cardiff?

or less exciting place "Newport" as a base for the area and if you want something scary, climb up and walk over the Newport suspension bridge..it sure scared me when operating.

Don't think so, there was a suggestion of Liverpool a year or so ago but it didn't happen (unless I missed it). I'd be interested in that (direct train from here, too!).
 
Liverpool might be good. There is all the Albert Dock area and such like. Crosby and Formby and Southport aren't that far away. There's also Lytham St Anne's and Blackpool areas.
 
or a challenge to get some great shots on the most boring and uninteresting town or city in the UK :D o_O
 
Something for next year, does anybody fancy a London meet the weekend of 18th & 19th February, covering the ancient area of Tower bridge, Tower of London and Wapping down by the river. As an added inducement for one half of the Snaps @Mrs Snap the weekend also coincides with this

David Crosby and George Formby on the same line up, I'd pay good money for that.

I wish! Unfortunately that's the only weekend in February we can't do! Any other weekend would have been fine :(
 
Now I don't wish to appear an old fuddy-duddy but the OP was trying to organise a meet darn sarf so it might be an idea to try and keep the thread on track and start another one for any other meets you might wish to arrange. Just a suggestion. :)

Hah! You are indeed an old fuddy-duddy... but you are also right! However, @F1.2 has not posted since the OP of this thread, although he apparently was online earlier today. Allen, any comments on the various suggestions?

Just to swing back off topic temporarily...I'm biased but Liverpool is an awesome city to photograph. Architecture that covers a few hundred years of styles, 2 cathedrals (you can go up to the top of one of them), the Albert Dock, Anfield (and some other football ground), Ferries across the Mersey and two great Museums. Maybe next year ;0)
