Film meet (London)- Saturday 10th March 2012.

Sorry folks, work commitments mean that I'm not going to be around for the film meet. Damn shame but at least the bank manager will be happy.

I look forward to seeing the results though. Have fun and take lots of badly composed, slightly out of focus shots for me, at least then I'll feel like I was there.

Cheers fella and it will be a pleasure to drink it with you, even if in the long run I'm paying for it myself...

I'm getting really excited about the trip now, although I still haven't decided which cameras to bring.

Andy

I'm also gonna try my best to make it, especially since I've got film cameras coming out of every crevice!

not long now ,i'm looking forward to the sunny weather Jim has organised :)

I still haven't decided which cameras to take yet.... I think the Trip, a folder and a Yash FR but I keep changing my mind....:bang::thinking:

Andy

lol ok thanks. Yeah why not, I've always like the sound of that thing, be nice to see what its like. I have a few old Kodak ultra? rolls somewhere. I can have colour right? ;)

Just as long as its film, it doesn't matter! I will stick it in my bag for you.

oh Adam , you are just soooooo modern . be good to see you mate

 I bet you they think colour is normal one day...oh yeah! you wait and see, ;)

Ok thanks. I must be honest with you, I like the idea of a bit of fun with it, but in reality and thinking about it further I realise I might not take any shots in film ...simply because I wont take a shot unless its worth it, and if its worth it it must be digital since that how I'm set up nowadays.

Give it a try! The trip is a great street shooter and with the film developed and scanned it can work seamlessly with your digital stuff too. All mine goes through Lightroom whatever it may be.

Right, a quick heads up that this is on Saturday. Looking forward to it. If people want my mobile number for contact, drop me a PM.

Meeting is Cafe Nero in Liverpool Street station. 9.30 onwards, aiming to set off at 10am- this is in traditional F&C style flexible!

Right, time to choose some films and load up the RB backs :D

I might tend this one too, (depends if I can get the wknd off). Relatively new to film but loving every sec and I want to have a go at developing some of my own B&W 35mm negs so expect lots of questions.. I have a really strong pull towards the larger formats too but that's a way off!

It must be a great little street camera becuase David Bailey once said so didn't he.

No, Im sure your right and I love the idea I really do, I've spend decades banging out rolls of the finest gold ultra III or whatever it was called, and I kinda miss its subtle yet vivid finish. But It was a mistake for me to say Id like a go with film, excuse me, I know on the day I'd bin it in the bag as soon as I start. I kinda feel I could just put my camera back to jpeg default if I wanted I typical colour film finish, which kinda undermines my style of output nowadays.

I;ll just hang around in the background if that's ok, you don't have to introduce me or anything. :)

No one will mind, I am sure! Last time we had someone who bought a digital camera that was masquerading as a film rangefinder. You know who you are... ;)

Not going to be able to come unfortunately - March seems to be the month when NTU gives us lots of formal reports, posters etc to do and very little throughout the rest of the year!

Hopefully be able to come on the next one...

No problem, hope to see you next time.

For those attending if you want my mobile number, please PM me!

I have a couple i might bring along, but i expect there will be so much camera porn that we will be fondling each others cameras rather than prints ;)

Rob shall we meet on Euston Station? We can walk down to Euston Square and get a tube through to Liverpool Street without changing.

Sounds good to me, do you arrive at 9 as well?

Yep, 09.04 I think. How about if we meet at the top of the steps to the Tube, I'll be the big lad with glasses and a camo backpack.

Sounds like a plan, i'll PM my mobile number

9.04... we might be on the same train, Virgin train?

I'll be the big lad with glasses and a camo backpack.

Have fun guys, I'm gutted I'm not going to be there but have a pint or two for me while you're mooching round town, look forward to seeing the results.

I think the next one should be at least north of Watford.

Manchester next time? We get to go to the Real Camera Shop :P

There's a 6ft high cabinet full of leicas ;)

Oy Rob, get going or you'll miss your train....:-)

Andy

I'm sat on it now :) Choo Choo ;)

Oh, I see, modern technology..... I'm just having toast and coffee and waiting for the wife to get down to take me to the station. I even had a lie in this morning didn't get up till 6.20. And you think students have it tough.

6.20?! I set off walking to the station at half 5, buses don't start til 6.15, currently sat on the train with a VERY large cuppa and a book :P
