Film 52 Index - The runners and riders..

Yeah I know.....need to "hyjack" Robs scanner to slow him up a bit!:D

I'm managing to do a good job of that as it is :bonk:

Looking into upgrading to a V700 so i can scan more than one frame of 120 at a time

Oooo nice.....I'm not sure if it was the V700 I was looking at a while ago ...may have been a different model....I know it was capable of scanning LF negs...was in the region of £400 + though so dropped the idea.

Yeah it scans up to 8x10 which is overkill for me, but I will move up to 5x4 in the future so it's a worthwhile investment

It's quite expensive but I will sell my V500 and some other gubbins to cover most of the cost

One more week up, now at 42

Also added an alternate take for an earlier week

V700 is a very good scanner indeed, head and shoulders above my old canoscan 9000f. I got one second hand with better scanning holders for £250.

Got sorted for this week....44 posted!

Looks like I won't be shooting much til the 17th when I go landscaping in Dorset with Woodsy and JCoquillon, assuming I don't utterly mullet the exposures (highly likely considering the mindset im in right now) I should have a few weeks worth in the bag

I've never been around Dorset....will look forward to seeing shots that you and the others come home with.....hope you have fun and the weather comes up trumps.

I'm on a bit of a roll atm ...... Been sifting through gear this evening and deciding on the cameras i hope to use for the last couple of months of my challenge.

Loaded a couple of them with film and bobbed them in with the RZ67 for a few hours out and about tomorrow......as if the RZ and tripod wasn't enough to carry...gluten for punishment, that's me!! lol

Just devd a roll of Fomapan 400 and look to have a suitable shot for week 45 .

Got lots of other cameras loaded with film so maybe have this weeks shot sorted within the next few days too!

Dorset this weekend for me :) assuming it doesn't **** it down though :( got 11 rolls if 120 packed, massively optimistic but would hate to not have enough :p

You're taking the RB67 then??

Gotta confess, I love my RZ...when I'm in the mood to lug it about!

The ETRS is without doubt more practical for carrying about and tbh I actually like the 645 format

Won't be using for my 52 though ( or very doubtfull) as I have too many other cameras i wanna show off!! lol

He's got to have something to shelter under if it rains!

I thought that was where the grease soaked, water resistant empty fish and chip paper wrapping came in handy :D

Yes i will be, haven't got any other medium format cameras (excluding the Ensign all distance box camera I'm converting to a pinhole camera, which currently hasn't got a pinhole in, thus making it a box)

When I'm landscaping it does tend to get more use than the 5D depending on the weather, 5D doesn't like getting wet, the RB is indifferent.

Shelter under? You mean shelter in? There's plenty of space in the mirror box for at least 3 people, maybe 6 of your stature ;)

OK well I've got a shot up for week 45.....

Week 46 too so back up to date ......need to get film manipulated into another camera for this week now!

Don't worry Rob, you have a couple of weeks to catch up with me as I won't have anymore to post now 'til after i get back from the UK.

I'm afraid not, it does come with a tool who operates it though

I have a few weeks worth in reserve don't you worry, once i've got this coursework done i will be sticking a few weeks up

Just wondering about a Film 52 for next year... are you guys using the "official" subjects, or just putting up shots you're happy with?

I can see that Film 52 must be sporadic, unless you're absolutely dedicated to the task!

I don't follow the "official" themes, i tend to put up a shot from each roll or each occasion i shoot, whichever is most convenient

Yes it's very sporadic, sometimes i can get 3 weeks worth from 1 roll then not get through the next roll for a month or more

Right, courseworks done, now it's catching up time...

Tbh Chris, my 52 challenge wasn't originally intended to be with 52 different cameras...It was all down to a little bit of persuasion from another TP member who was doing similar.....not sure if he's got to week 12 yet! :suspect::D :D

I had no plans to follow any set theme regardless of camera...I would just post whatever i was pleased with although I did intend using a vast array of cameras.

As it turns out i am glad that I was tempted to use a different camera for each week although it has, at times been a a little too much, so much so, I did consider packing it in all together at one point.

I very much doubt that I will personally be doing another challenge in 2013....I will however be taking the experiences from this challenge and using them to continue shooting with all this old gear I have and posting many of the results (good, bad or indifferent) on here.

I believe that I may well be able to improve more so by not having the "pressure" to complete a roll film to get a particular shot posted or regularly find myself playing "catch up" when dropping behind a few weeks.

What will you do if you set yourself a challenge....same camera, different theme for each shot, colour, b&w???.....so many variants!......we could arrange something on your behalf if you wish

Few more weeks up :)

Up to week 50 now up!

Aiming to get another roll shot this weekend and one more just before christmas to hopefully end on time :D
