Edit My Images
Yes
I downloaded the programme to view RAW thumbnails to show in Windows and it didn't quite work for some reason.
Now when I try to import pics from my CF card into lightroom I keep getting this error message :

could not copy file to suggested location.

When I look at the properties of said files it says they are microsoft digital images.
Can I do something to enable me to import pics from my CF card as I was able to yesterday.
Thanks

ps they are RAW files

Aha, silly me, the place LR was trying to import them to didn't have enough diskspace :) problem fixed :)

but.... should the properties actually say " microsoft digital image "

I take it this is the File Type as shown on the Explorer details view or the Properties page for the file(s)? If so I'd guess that the MS RAW Viewer has associated itself with the file extension of your RAWs (.CRW, .CR2, .NEF etc). It's not a big deal in that it doesn't affect the content of the files or the operation of Lightroom. It can easily be changed through the Tools... Folder Options menu item in explorer should you wish.

Sure.... gimme a min :)......I am sure this is not right somehow

Thanks, I can't remember what it used to be called, what does your properties show when you look at a file in RAW

many thanks

and how can I uninstall the microsoft viewr, as I can't even locate the proggy in control panel etc

what does your properties show when you look at a file in RAW
They just show as CR2 files. What they're called in the properties panel has no effect on the file content etc, all that it controls is what's displayed in the details view and what happens when you double click on one.

If there's no obvious way to uninstall the RAW viewer I'd just leave things as they are, it's not going to cause any issues.

Do you actually see raw thumbnails in explorer?

Try reinstalling it, it does no harm to leave it installed. I take it you're using XP?

I have installed but when I open a folder containg raw images I still cannot view them in windows explorer, I must be doing something wrong :(

Ok daft question time :)
if I wanted to delete the programme, what is it actually called, I cannot find any rawviewer to uninstall :)

thanks

It doesn't actually look like it's installed at all. The system requirements are that you have XP Service Pack 2 and also .NET Framework 1.1

To find out if you have XP SP2, right click My Computer and select Properties - it will tell you under the general tab under system what SP you have installed.

To find out if you have .NET framework installed look in Add/Remove programs for Microsoft .NET framework 1.1

Yep sp2 is installed ans the .net framework is also installed.
I wish I would leave things well alone :)
Thanks

Looks like something aint working, have decided to give it a miss
thanks for your help.
