I covered an event at the weekend, using two cameras. I've sorted out the files to get the keepers. Now I've got two folders, one with, e.g. DSC_150-350.jpg, and the other, e.g. DSC_2200-2400.jpg. Obviously, the chronological order of the shots is split across the two folders. Is there any logical way (that I cannot think of!) to organize, and rename/renumber the files?

You could rename them by date hour minute second then they would be in chronological order regardless of which camera took them like so 2011-08-08-23-02-53 with or without the dashes.

Have you syncronised the times on both cameras.

If so, photoshop/lightroom can do a rename - and just sort by time, then renumber.

You can also do a "time offset" to one of the cameras to bring them back to sync.

The perfect tool for this is breezebrowser - file manager - which does all this when the files are imported - with loads of clever functions... though most are in lightroom/photoshop.

There is a thing that people dont think of - if you put the date and time in reverse order it will sort... - which is what Paul suggested

I know aperture also has a time offset if required...
