Before I start I know I should have made two back ups but it is all my fault for being lazy and not doing my monthly backup.
I have a 2tb hdd with various items including my photos on it, yesterday when I opened up lightroom it could not find my recent photos, when I checked the hdd it is showing as 1.7tb available which I though was incorrect, looking at the photos folder I only had pictures from 2002 to 2010 so everything from 2010 onwards has gone.
I have not formatted the drive or moved the pictures or deleted the files so it may be that the hdd is on it way out.
Any suggestions on what I could use to try and get some of the photos I have lost mainly from August this year as I have a backup upto March and had not used the camera for anything important.
Not sure if recuva would work on a mac or if it would search for files on the hdd if I connect it to a usb doc to a Windows machine.
