File name changing 40D...Possible?????

Hi TP'ers,

Think I will answer my own question on this one but...

Is it possible to change the file naming in-camera on the 40D? for example from IMG_001 to say MAT_001.

I'm unable to find a setting within the camera to do it so I quess this must mean its impossable!.

Can you not do this using the EOS utility during download? Failing that DPP allows bulk file renaming in a flexible manner...

Personally, I use the EOS Utility to reset the the file name to camera#folder#file# so that it is absolutely unique within the Canon camera world! This is because changing camera body, the files reset at folder 0, file 0 and I was worried about over-writing existing photos.
