Fifa 20 ps4 players help

Guys my son recently bought Fifa 20 and we can't seem to connect both controllers to play a simple friendly. All the help i can find is about playing friends online but what i need to do is find a way to play him when we're sitting together. Any ideas?

I found this online from a similar question, hopefully it helps

I guess basically you wish to know how to pair a second/guest controller to with your console.It’s pretty simple,switch on your ps4 using regular controller.While you are on the home screen,i.e. after you have logged in,where all the games are listed,use the second controller that you wish to pair and press the playstation button,which in turn will take you back to the log in screen.

Do not use your regular account to log in and instead select ‘new user’,and then select ‘play as guest’ on the next screen.And both your controllers would now be connected and you can enjoy offline multiplayer with your mates.
