Life is a bitch matt, its good your getting used to it while your young!

Its called the 'Inverse Law of Bargains', the lower the price the greater the distance it will be from you.

I dont blame him! He's not your personal taxi

I echo TheCrow, lifes a bitch matey :D

None of your mates drive yet? Sling 'um some petrol money and you're off.

where theres a will theres a way Matt

Trains, buses will get you there, altough it may take a while

where abouts is it?

You can always grab a bargain online...

:D

Didn't know it was possible to have an 'ace' car for a first car? :p

Your parents are doing you a great service Matt.
Their ability to repel your bleating for transport assistance is preventing you from clogging up the roads and becoming a menace to society.

mine was a citroen saxo p reg piece of poo

that was when i was 17 4 years ago then i moved to the carribean and i havnt had a car since :shake: although i use my mums astra twintop 1.9 tdi more than her and i love it :D

I loved my first car, an F reg Renault 5 Monaco (metallic brown  with leather seats)

.......Matt, you need to calm yourself down a wee bit, take a seat, sit back and relax and tell me why you seem to be so angry with everything lately......c'mon, talk to Rubber Duck, tell me all about it......

Is it 'that time of the month'? Apparently I'm having my 'man-period' at the minute. I hit my son this morning...then I found out I don't have kids...WHO THE HELL DID I HIT?

So it's not just the hubby who has a man period

If you don't mind me asking personal questions Chris, how often do you have yours (his are approx every 8 weeks).

You will just have to be patient Matt, anyway in my early experience of looking for s/h motors I wasted many a journey to view only to find the seller's description did not match up with the actual condition, a polished heap can sometimes look good in a pic!!.

It's a buyers market at the minute anyway ;) the bargains won't go anywhere.

You know, MySpace exists for this kind of stuff.

totally worded the OP wrong. My dad is a superstar and does to much for me as it is. I meant I was annoyed due to the incosiderate cars getting owners so far away

whats changed in the (nearly) 10 years since i learnt to drive? all of my mates bar one (who driove his mums car) drove old bangers because we couldnt afford anything else, infact we could hardly afford to put fuel in them (which cost pretty much half what is does now!). i only earnt enough money to buy something that cost more than £300 about 4 years ago (whilst working full time)

now you see ex-learners in new or nearly new cars as a matter of course, even the 17 year olds at work drive sparkly newish cars yet they earn peanuts!

is it the financial environment thats changed or is it the expectations of what they want/will drive? (anyone remember the lad who came on here whinging on about insuring his audiTT!?)

im just interested in this not trying to cause an argument

Mostly on a daily basis. I'm known as 'Angry Chris' at work, and it has been suggested that I see a doctor about stress/anger/depression before I go postal on someone  I think (read: HOPE!) they were joking! I'm not that bad!

Whitewash, my first car was an old Punto. Tidy enough in and out but it required regular (twice daily) top ups on the radiator, not to mention shot suspension, buggered exhaust etc. I repaired a lot of it myself and if it wasn't for the sheer amount of mileage I do, would probably have kept it

I dunno, its not even that any more, owning a late model car of any make isn't enough even, (though you can't blame parents for not wanting to tow a pile of ***** home at 3am), it has to be a Corsa, or some other go cart with catering bakedbean tins on the back, and a.....beesting aerial.....oh eye, not worth a fart without a beesting aerial, they wouldn't be seen dead in anything Kev wouldn't be seen dead in.
I've just been through all this crap, 8 grand of tin box corsa must be Si :shake:, in a specific shade of grey, with the correct alloys (cos kev say's so) and 2 grand of insurance....wtfff
Just buy some junk, learn to drive, spend when you've come to your senses.
After all, might as well wrap a £1000's worth of rust around the neighbours water feature as £8000's worth

I have a savings account that my mum and dad setup for me. So I have a few pennies to play with. Nothing stupily high, just the right amount.

I honestly dont know. You see people in New Minis and alsorts. A lad who was in my year in school, crashed his car, nearly killing three of his mates and his parents bought him a BRAND NEW Golf and are apaying the insurance. WTF is all that about!?!?!

Oh yeah I remeber TT guy

:D I love them. I found one on Pistonheads ages ago for £1600. It was Storm Grey, bucket seats, mint consition but it got sold :( It looked great. Any idea of people who selll them in the North west is it just a case of buying a Mini mag and looking in the classifieds?

the main problem with minis is that compared with even 5 years ago there are alot fewer of them around. they;ve been out of production for a while and they also rust like its going out of fashion and the prices of those that arent rough as old boots reflects that.
