Hi all bought this Feisol 3372 last year from Feisol UK also known as GlobalTech commerce ltd, they seem to have gone out of business.I can not locate the site any longer,it needs a warranty repair and I'm having a big issue conveying this to Feisol Europe who can't find any record of it being sold even though I have forwarded the email receipt/payment record to them.
Anyone know anywhere else in the U.K. that deals in their products.
 
Seem to recall that Feisol UK stopped trading following the EU referendum result which made imports more expensive.

Feisol Europe would now seem your best point of contact or failing that Feisol HQ wherever that may be

they are both resellers of products, so they are not the same company, i guess that's why they cant find your record. you would need to get in touch with the company themselves i think.
 
Thanks both,I have contacted the Europe branch but they seem unwilling to help apart from to say they maybe able to supply any parts required.

from what i understand its not a European branch, its a company reselling. you need to get in touch with the company themselves, in china i think
 
I have a 3371 and last week I broke it.. and Feisol Europe have been amazing in helping me get the parts I need sent over. Admittedly it's not a warranty jobby, but I'm happy
 
Thanks Ian and Jason,I'll take a look at it myself when I get the chance.It has something to do with the metal clips one of the legs does not open out the same distance as the other two when the three are separated thus when it's placed down either with legs extended or at its minimum height it's unstable and unlevel.I then have to swing the offending leg in and pull the clip and then swing it back out to get it into the correct position.
It's annoying that they sell something with a three year warranty that you can't seem to use.

I did own three Feisol 3372LV and did promote them a lot.

I did not get the same problems as described in the video
(possibly because I did not keep them long enough) but I
experienced a fair amount of lateral axis torsion when wor-
king with long lenses on gimbals.

I do believe it can be a solution for many but I sold every-
thing from this maker and switched to an other one.

This other brand has 5 lines of tripods and only one is free
of lateral torsion. So I got three of them and now I'm happy.
 
I have had the 3371 for around a year now and it's seen water, sand, rocks etc. and still holds up with either my RZ67PROII or the Chamonix 45F1.
 
My Feisol CT-3472 is now 5 years old and is as good as new.
John at Globaltech did a service on it a couple of years ago so I'm sorry to see him having to give up the franchise.

Gitzo ?,I wish I'd spent the extra on one now,the Feisol does suffer from not being as rigid with the gimbal and canon 500mm on as others I've seen when out and about.
Getting warranty issues sorted is probably the biggest reason I wouldn't buy another.

I think that seems to describe the issue the maker of that video above had with his tripod? Have a look at this and see if it is what you are experiencing:

Perhaps you could contact the chap on YouTube and see if he managed to resolve the issue with the tripod and/or the manufacturer? Hope this is useful.

The 3372 is not the most robust of the series, rated load is about 1/2 of the 3472 for example ... a heavy long lens does need a robust tripod.
The warranty is obviously addressed by the supplier and in this instance the UK supplier has regrettably ceased trading so the manufacturer would seem to be the only option :(
 
I've just had an email back from Feisol and they are asking I ship it back to Taiwan at my expense,she has mentioned the clip and some other parts will need replacing so at a guess this is possibly a known issue.

@gramps I did email GlobalTech for advise and this was their recommendation.

That's the exact issue with mine mate,as above probably now a known issue.

Not the sort of response I would have hoped for ... would the parts from Feisol Europe work out more convenient?

That's not the way it should be if they want to keep a
good name/press.

A student of mine having that kind of suggestion from
the distributor of yet another maker said:

"… might as well consider giving it to someone I hate!"

I've sent the YouTube link to them,lets see if they can pinpoint the issue I will then ask that they ship the necessary parts out FOC and I'll fix it myself.
Quite time consuming to ship back to Taiwan and have a couple of weeks without it.

Yes I was surprised they want to go pay to ship it to them,from their last email.

You will be responsible for return shipping cost only, but if you have any question about this suggestion, please kindly let us know.
 
Feisol Europe are going to send out the parts,I hope this fixes the issue.On the other hand another email just received from Feisol themselves in Taiwan states they need it back as parts lever etc and a new main body platform are required,I still have to pay to ship it to them but it comes back with an added spirit level woo hoo.
 
Just looked at RM to ship back insured to £500 either £99 or £86 wow.

That video made me laugh when saying how hard he treats his tripod, looks like the same goes for his coffee table with the spiked feet on it.

Looks very fixable if they send the parts, maybe even use bits from another make, daresay many are made in the same factory and rebranded

I've had a reply from both Europe and Taiwan,and they are stating it has only happened on 20-30 tripods,they are aware of the video also.
They have also stated a mk11 body revision is available in around two weeks,which suggests it's a bigger problem than they are letting on.They have said this will be repaired with the revised body and clips,I've asked for a complete new one to be sent out as that's what it's nearly going to be.

I said it's unacceptable expecting me to pay under warranty conditions and they are now getting DHL to collect,it's typical I'll need it in a couple of weeks though so have asked for a new one to be sent,not expecting that to happen though.

its good thats now happening, its a shame it wasnt offered straight off the bat, but hopefully alls well that ends well

It is an older model without the Anti Rotation leg locks but very sturdy. I used to have it's brother (G1329 Mk2) and it was fine with a 600 F4 L IS or 800 F5.6 L IS. The older style leg locks take some getting used to (about 30 seconds!) and they are much easier to clean if necessary. Oh yes and spares are easily available too.
 
IMG_2216.JPG Europe branch sent a couple of levers and springs,I've changed the offending one and now it's back to normal there is wear on both body and clip though so it will be going back.A guess around 100 uses in a year so its not going to last long.

Makes me glad I bought a Sirui... well, so far anyway! Mind you, they're all great until something wears out, drops off or breaks!

Ouch, that doesn't look good! Two friends of mine have the Sirui Tournament models but neither are exhibiting this sort of wear - still something to keep an eye on.

OOPS! That was a MISPRIUNT!

The Tournament models are from Feisol and nobody else! Sorry I was sober when I posted this. Had a bottle of Rioja now so I can correct my mistake!

Of course my apologies to Sirui as well:beer:
 
Well DHL collected last week and I've had confirmation they had received it back and it would be repaired with the upgraded head and clips.
Another text arrives from DHL saying it will be delivered back on the 12th and I need to pay import charges of £48.
I have contacted Feisol but no reply yet.
 
I'd consider contacting DHL and explain to them it's a free repair under warranty. Ask them how it would be possible for that to attract any import charges?

If in doubt or if you're not happy with their answer then I'd be inclined to contact HM Revenue and Customs, explain briefly what's happened (you had to send your UK purchased goods back to the foreign manufacturer for free repair under warranty, the item has not been replaced with a new item, just some defective parts have been replaced free of charge, [if that's the case]) and check with them what the situation is about import charges, and how best to proceed. Hope this is useful. I'd be interested to know the answer you get.
