Hi all, I have a Feisol 3472 tripod which I bought some time ago but it has had only casual use since purchase. I now find that one of the legs does not come out from the body when trying to put it up, I have to operate the catch to get it to move at all.

I checked on the internet to see if anyone else has the same problem and it seems others have. I have contacted Feisol and they have sent me a part to replace the mainframe of the tripod which the legs attach to.

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and has another mainframe solved the problem. As far as I can see the locking catch on the legs is part of the internal workings of the leg itself and nothing to do with it attaching to the central part of the tripod.

If anyone can offer any advice before I start to disassemble it I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in anticipation, John.

If its the stepped parts of the spider that's causing the problem then a replacement should solve it

I used to have one of those Feisol and the tripods of that line
are pretty good.

You can disassemble without worry as it is of very simple cons-
truction and easy to rebuilt… that will give you a chance to see
what went wrong!

Thanks for the info, I’ll probably have a go at it if it’s fairly easy to do.
