Yes
I am starting to feel old, my 19 year old passed his driving test today, first attempt. Hopefully he's off to Uni in September. Doesnt seem 5 minutes since he was born, time passes far too quickly!

Good lad. :-)

Yes it does make you feel old, my son passed his last year and made me feel the same way

Lol! It`s all down hill from here I tell you

Off to Uni - won't need a car.

And on the bright side - you can now claim lifts back - those times you and the missus want to go out for a meal etc

Yeah, I suppose that's one of the milestones. There are others...!

He,'s going to study automotive engineering so a licence might come in handy though.

40th birthday - that's when I felt old!

My son's 40th that is. :(

I feel the same. I have been visiting universities with my son for interviews. He's 20 but he doesn't have a driving licence yet.

He will have to get one soon as it's an entrance requirement to study paramedic science as it includes work placement.

Steve.

Congratulations to your son. As your son's studying Automotive Engineering, what are his career plans after. Ford's pay well for Engineers at their research facility at Dunton Essex (there's around 3000 engineers) and there is plenty of scope for promotion too.

My eldest (23) passed his test almost 6yrs ago, but I haven't started feeling old yet. :)

He's hopefully going to Coventry university with a placement year in the course so is looking at finding work through that route. The uni has good links with jaguar land rover etc so that would be his preference, but who knows what will happen. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes.

Agree time passes too quickly. I have a 14 year old and a 19(in a few days) year old. The eldest passed his test when he was 17 and a half and I've worried ever since. He drives 50 miles a day now and got himself a new Polo so at least he's in a safe and reliable car

I blubber my eyes out when my son went off to uni, he was my best mate. He is 28 now, married with a son of his own, he is still my best mate but I don't see as much of him as I once did. Happy for him though.
Best wishes too you both.

That's one of the nicest posts I've read on any forum for a long time.... :)

Its not my son passing his test nearly 10 years ago now, or my daughter almost two years ago that makes me feel old but the bloody aches and pains first thing on a morning :(

I guess that's how my Dad's going to feel in just under 2 years time

Passed my test at 18 which will be 20 years in July.... that makes ME feel old

Well done hamster100 junior! All the best pass first time ;)
